After the harvest of the first bloomed courgette plants last week, the harvesting of the Fioretta and green mini courgette varieties has started as well for Dutch grower Johan Zwinkels with CourgetteFleur Zwinkels. The flowers are harvested, packaged and delivered from his farm. "A gorgeous sight, all those beautiful yellow flowers. They will quickly find their way to a chef who will turn them into a beautiful dish.", Zwinkels says.
The yellow fleur and mini courgette will follow these days as well. "We do not work with stock," according to Johan. "The flowers bloom for one day only. Early in the morning, everything is freshly harvested and immediately flow-packaged. The lines are short so that the product can reach its final destination quickly. The fresher the product, the better the end result on the plate."
All products are available in different types of packaging. The products are GlobalGAP and Grasp certified. "A maximum biological effort is made to supply a product that is as clean as possible with a good shelf life."
