Nigeria: State of Kano hosts First National Tomato Stakeholders summit

Next week, in Kano state, the 1st National Tomato Stakeholders Summit will take place. It has been organised by the Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG) and Grow Africa in collaboration with the Tomato Grower association of Nigeria (TOGAN). Stakeholders will discuss the theme “Strengthening Opportunities in Tomato Value Chain towards a National Self Sufficiency”.

The event which is billed for Thursday January 24th 2019, will bring key stakeholders together to examine the many challenges facing the industry in the country.

The emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, Minister for Agriculture & Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, Minister of State Industry, Trade and Investment, Hajiah Aisha Abubakar, the   Governor of Central Bank, Mr. Godwin Emifele and the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed are among the dignitaries to attend the event.

President Nigeria Agribusiness Group (NABG), Alhaji Sani Dangote, Country Director TecnoServe Nigeria, Mr. Larry Umunna, Grow Africa’s Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Ibrahim  Gourouza President Tomato Growers Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Ringim Abdullahi and Co-Founder WOFAN (Women Farmers Advancement Network), Hajiah Salamatu Garba are key stakeholders at the event.
