Easy-to-construct greenhouse keeps the cold out and the warmth in

Verge Permaculture is a well followed permaculture YouTube channel operated by a mechanical engineer. Recently Verge did a case study of the Agro Resilience Kit (ARK) Sprung tensioned membrane greenhouse and plant factory offerings.

The resulting case study video has almost 10,000 views, having been released December 2, with the second part to be released in January.

According to Dan Cloutier, President of ARK, the greenhouse kit has a significant number of advantages. He points to the highly competitive capital costs, which according to Dan are 10-25% less than conventional greenhouses. Another big plus is the fast construction time: "5 days per 1/8 acre for a crew of two".

To top it off, Dan mentions the greenhouse's "insurability and imperviousness to hail, snow and even hurricane and typhoon winds (Miami Dade certified)," as well as "unparalleled energy efficiency including free passive cooling and so forth."

For these reasons, Dan has seen demand for ARK Sprung solutions from plant factory and greenhouse growers from 1/8th of an acre and larger.
