Jeroen Sanders shares cultivation knowledge in Colombia

Greenhouse researcher Jeroen Sanders was in Colombia recently on behalf of Demokwekerij Westland. Under the 'Centro de CapacitaciĆ³n y Conocimiento Colombia' (CeCaCoCo) project, a foil greenhouse was set up at the Colombian university Utadeo in cooperation with VDH, Royal Brinkman, Verkade Klimaat and Priva.

The project trains Colombian teachers and growers in setting up various crops. For example, Jeroen taught them about IPM in tomato cultivation, and a pilot is being set up that will be simulated with the future all-climate greenhouse at the World Horti Center. Ultimately, the goal is to pass on the knowledge of the trainers to growers in order to strengthen horticulture in Colombia.
