Omega Group:

"Chinese horticulture can't grow without construction machines"

Greenhouses are being built all around the world and those greenhouses are getting bigger and taller. That's good for the growing climate, but before cultivation can start, that extra high greenhouse must first be constructed. Greenhouse builders need special equipment to get that high up. That's why Nongsheng Company bought two greenhouse construction machines from OMEGA during the GreenTech fair this year.

The machines they bought are two OMEGA 408TS machines that have been developed and built by the Dutch manufacturer OMEGA. The machines have a double retractable platform so that there is enough room to move when a lot of tools go up. The machines are fully controllable with double joysticks and easy to stabilize with leveling. "The track-driven scissor lift is ideal for the often difficult surface that can be found around greenhouses, just like the other scissor lifts," says Omega Group.

The hydraulic drive is completely closed by means of two suction pumps with optional non-marking tracks. Furthermore, the OMEGA 408TS has a detachable control box, all electrical, hydraulic and diesel parts are in lockable compartments and the machine meets the requirements of EN280: 2015. It's also easy to set up a safety rail with these machines.

The machines were purchased by Shanghai Nongsheng Modern Agricultural Technology. This company realizes large greenhouse horticulture projects and introduces foreign technology to further develop Chinese greenhouse horticulture. In 2016 the company became distributor of Visser China, while this year the distribution rights of Logitec Plus in China were acquired.

"There are still a few on-going applications from Chinese greenhouse construction companies. A few years ago that would not have been possible, but the market is growing fast," according to Omega Group from De Lier. "In order to ensure that they can handle the machines in China, the machines are provided with a comprehensive user manual and, if desired, we offer support and training on site." With the purchase of two greenhouse construction machines, Nongsheng now has the possibility to safely work at high elevations to, for example, install screen installations and place glass panels.
