From Assam State, northern India

Guwahati vegetables delivered to European markets

Vegetables grown near the city of Guwahati are now going global; the produce from the state of Assam and the entire Northeast have found a place in the markets of Europe. The state of Assam is now exporting indigenously produced vegetables to places like London and Doha. Vegetables including flat beans, radish and Brinjal were dispatched from Guwahati airport on November 3.

State Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted: “Glad that in a unique intervention to support Farmers Producer Organisations (FPO) @IndiGo6E dispatched about one tonne of vegetables from Guwahati airport to Kolkata then London & Doha.”
