Betti Wiggins, Houston Independent School District officer of nutrition services, will be the keynote speaker.
“Attendees can choose from three tracks, which are commercial growers, backyard hobby growers and business startups,” said Skip Richter, AgriLife Extension horticulture agent in Houston.
Topics include organic weed control, vegetable production and varieties for Southeast Texas, small-scale fruit production, integrated pest management for vegetable production and small-scale produce marketing. Speakers include a number of AgriLife Extension specialists and other local food experts.
