Nijssen at GreenTech
Plant growth chambers and indoor farming solutions
At GreenTech Amsterdam (12-14 June), Nijssen will present its innovative solutions in phytotrons and indoor farming.
Nijssen presents its latest solutions in climate technology. Among their projects in recent years, Nijssen realised 100+ climate rooms for several seed breeding companies in Seed Valley Enkhuizen. The rooms, such as phytotrons, in vitro rooms, tissue culture rooms, vernalisation rooms, seed storage rooms (with freezing system) and steam cells for disinfection, will be used for numerous applications and crops. Also several indoor farming production facilities were realised.
"Adequate airflow is key"
The rapidly emerging indoor agriculture industries face significant HVAC and dehumidification challenges. Adequate airflow is key - to reduce plant disease and pests, to remove excess heat and humidity, and to control air quality.
Advanced control systems
The company's control systems facilitate integrated control of lighting, irrigation and CO2 levels, and provide 24/7 online monitoring, extensive data registration and options for data analysis. For use in stand alone rooms, the Nijssen automation team developed the Basic Growth Controller. This easy to operate controller comes with a comprehensive functionality in an all-in-1-module. It can be expanded or integrated into the advanced control system.
MyGrowthRoom XXL
Nijssen realised a XXL-type of MyGrowthRoom, the multifunctional mobile walk-in climate chamber for cultivation tests and production. Several rooms were also equipped with the Filacell cooling system developed by Nijssen. The system is based on the principle of wet flow cooling at ultra-high humidity and can, for example, also be used for research into plant diseases.
Customized LED solution For the LED lighting, Nijssen selects a suitable solution and supplier in consultation with the client. "Which LED solution is the best choice depends on the application," says Edwin Snabel, manager of the Climate Technology business unit. "There are different priorities for production than for tests and research, where you want to have a large variation in spectra and light intensity."
GreenTech Amsterdam GreenTech Amsterdam will take place 12-14 June 2018. Nijssen presents its solutions in hall 08, booth 232.
