Preventing climate shocks in the greenhouse
Example of energy screen control
Sometimes a curtain closes early at the end of the day, based on low radiation or a temporary low outside temperature. When the outside circumstances change, and the screen opens again, one can prevent this by closing the screen with a minimum time limit.

Hoogendoorn advises not to increase these values too much, since this can obstruct the opening times of the screen. A second possibility is to determine until what time the screen needs to be closed by altering the right influence and period settings.
By applying the same increase in influence based on the screen position, you can easily realize this per period. The example below shows that if the greenhouse temperature has reached the pre night temperature, the screen closes automatically. Once closed more than 5%, the screen stays closed.

In the context of the Next Generation Growing, it is advised to close the screens earlier, but not completely in order to prevent radiation.
