“In January and February, availability of some types of herbs was tricky, because our production in southern Europe was also affected by the unfavourable weather circumstances. This mostly concerned mint and coriander, but because our production areas are spread out properly, shortages were limited,” Piet van de Vugt says.
“The cultivation of edible flowers expands again this year. We are having our area grow along with the increasing demand of our customers. We grow our product based on demand. This requires a tight cultivation schedule, which is therefore often revised due to weather circumstances. But that makes it exciting and fun,” Piet concludes.
