The use of precision agriculture technologies and big agriculture data management will lead to an increase in a sustainable production. Growers are increasingly adopting these technologies in the recent years like drone technology, precision crop protection strategies and the use of robots.

Lénaïc Grignard from Delair-Tech will talk about their drone technology and how drones help to accelerate and improve the chance to select the next blockbuster seed. UAVs allow to screen more trials and at a higher pace than manual ground truthing. As an expert in both data acquisition and data processing, Delair-Tech developed high-throughput phenotyping UAV solutions to get valuable insights on each plant and efficient processing algorithms to extract accurate crop biophysical data.

Despite all these technologies the climate change can greatly influence food availability and food quality. For example, projected increases in temperatures, changes in precipitation patterns, changes in extreme weather events, and reductions in water availability may all result in reduced agricultural productivity. Margot Ribberink from the Meteo Group will talk about the way weather forecasting on the short and long term may help securing agri production.
