UK: CHA preparing second edition of GrowQuip
The event was launched at IPM Essen in Essen and Fruit Logistica in Berlin. At both shows CHA organised British exhibitor groups and manned a commercial horticulture industry information stand, where British suppliers and visitors also enjoyed a business reception. The CHA was also pleased to facilitate a visit to many of the British stands by David Mundell, Secretary of State for Scotland, at Fruit Logistica through our links with the British Embassy in Berlin.
Stratford Manor Hotel near Stratford Upon Avon is the GrowQuip 2017 venue
GrowQuip is a pan-industry event, which focuses on the key issues facing growers of fruit, vegetables, salads and ornamentals, and it will take place in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire from 1-2 November, 2017.
The event at Stratford Manor Hotel encompasses a conference programme which will bring together the best brains in horticulture to provide growers with help in overcoming some of the common problems they face in the day when running their business. From logistics, dealing with supermarkets, working with overseas partners or growing overseas, financial institutions, pest and disease, understanding new technology and opening up new markets – growers from all parts of the industry will have experienced similar issues.
James Simpson, MD for Adrian Scripps
Speakers already confirmed are George Beach, MD of Mudwalls Farm, a family business growing vegetables and salad produce that has also established a thriving import business to cope with seasonality dips and Markus Kobelt from Lubera in Switzerland, grower of fruit trees and producer of fruit drinks.
“I found the 2016 event incredibly useful, informative and motivating; the speakers were excellent” said Andy Merrick of Farplants Ltd. The full speaker content from the inaugural GrowQuip conference can be viewed on YouTube – GrowQuip 2016.
Allied to the 2017 conference programme is an industry showcase, where conference attendees will be able to view products and services available to commercial growers from major suppliers to horticulture. The event culminates in a networking dinner for suppliers and growers with an after dinner speaker.
Marshall Dirks, Marketing Director from Proven Winners in the USA
Pat Flynn, CHA Chairman who officially launched the event at IPM and Fruit Logistica, said: “The response we have had from industry both in the UK and internationally to the first edition was excellent, and clearly demonstrates the need for a pan-industry event such as this in the calendar."
“I thought GrowQuip was great; really good speakers!”, confirms Guy Moreton from one of the sponsors of the event, MorePeople.
“The news we are offering another excellent speaker programme supported by major industry sponsors and suppliers has been extremely well received, with much interest from Europe and the US already, as well as further afield. We are finalising a speaker line-up from across industry and across the world.”
The full conference, three-course dinner and wine package, including accommodation at the Stratford Manor Hotel with breakfast, is £265 + VAT.
