Bejo features tropical shallots from seed at Horti Asia 2017
After 30 years of intensive research and testing Bejo introduces the first tropical shallot from seed varieties in the world. Tropix is the first generative tropical shallot variety and Maserati F1 is the first hybrid tropical shallot variety. Both are derived from Asian genetic sources and both have their unique qualities. These varieties allow for production of healthy shallots from high quality seed.
At stand E7, at the Dutch Pavillion, Bejo representatives can provide details of these and many other vegetable varieties and give advice on the cultivation of each variety in local conditions.
Bejo actively shares their knowledge on the cultivation of open field crops and related subjects. Besides the personal advise of the Bejo representatives on suitable varieties and cultivation practices, Bejo also provides digital tools like the Cropalyser. The Cropalyser is a practical tool to easily identify major pests, diseases and disorders in vegetable crops. The app currently offers information on the health and growth of the crops: Carrots, Onions, Brassicas, Red Beet, Radicchio and Celeriac/Celery. The app is available for Apple, Android and Windows devices, go to www.cropalyser.com or try the Cropalyser at the stand of Bejo in the Dutch Pavilion, stand E7.
