Damage estimated at 7,000 Euro

Spain: Man causes damage at ex-boss's greenhouse

Agents of the Guardia Civil of El Ejido are investigating a case of criminal damage at an agricultural holding. The suspect caused severe damage to his ex-boss's cucumber greenhouse because he held a grudge against him.

The events took place in late December 2016, when the owner of a greenhouse, located in the area of Chozas de Lupión, reported that someone had broken in and had pulled up 720 mini cucumber plants. The agents of the Guardia Civil focused their investigation on an ex-worker at the farm, who had recently been dismissed by the owner after an argument caused by a disagreement regarding economic compensation.

The representatives of the Guardia Civil held an interview with this person, who had been working for more than 14 years at the victim's farm. During the conversation, he continuously made contradictory statements. After several checks, the agents proceeded to arrest him as the alleged perpetrator. The damage has been estimated at about 7,000 Euro.
