VIDEO: Why more space produces better plants and decreases your energy costs

The average height of greenhouse structures has raised over the last two decades from 5.4 meter in 1990 to 8.2 meter today. Many growers nowadays favour higher and more volume structures in order to better control temperature, humidity and ventilation changes. But what about the energy costs? You would say that a larger greenhouse also requires more heating? Well, it is the other way around, because in practice energy consumption per m2 decreases when using larger structures.

Just have a look at this new series of videos, for which Richel has teamed up with Red Sun Farms and greenhouse consultant Jean Christophe Schneider. The videos give a very clear and detailed explanation how more space increases plant productivity and at the same time decreases the energy costs.
