Menno and Holland Green Machine partner for Skumix application

Short period’s in-between cultivations are making it ever more complicated to establish optimal protection against phyto pathogens. The focus has to be on the correct volume of active ingredient applied to the target areas. Feeding product solution and compressed air volume stream through two supply-lines, air-mixed foam application is now possible, thanks to a new cooperation between Holland Green Machine and Skumix®

Control of phyto-pathogens in cultivation of vegetables such as tomatoes, bell peppers and cucumbers requires, besides considering dripper-lines, floor-areas and irrigation systems, also disinfection of energy shields and glass surfaces. From there, remaining fungal duration forms may re-contaminate already disinfected areas. Proper disinfection is aiming at eliminating pyhyto-pathogens, such as virus (TMV, PepMv, ToMV, CGMMV etc.), bacteria (Clavibacter, Corynebacterium, etc.) and fungi (Alternaria, Bortytis, Colletotrichum, Phytophthora, etc.).

With a adjustment of the S55 Airmixer the spray robot is used for disinfection with Skumix foam in greenhouses. This makes the spray robot an interesting option for fighting stubborn viruses.

This adjustment of the S55 spray robot was developed in corporation with Menno Chemie / Menno Florades Vertrieb from Germany, well known for its successful treatment of viruses.

Jan Nevermann of Menno Chemie-Vertrieb and Eric Gerritsma of Holland Green Machine.

The S55 AIRMIXer is equipped with an extra hose reel for high pressed air placed above the hose reel for water. The robot has become a bit higher, but is still 30cm wide. The spray robot uses pre-mixed air and liquid to get a strong and focused foam.

The adjustment for foam disinfection is optional. It can easily be disconnected so that the spray robot can be used for normal crop spraying.
