Japan: Seiwa opens new Tomato Park training and demo centre

Last Saturday, the new Tomato Park in Japan was opened with an official traditional Japanese ceremony. Tomato Park is intended to be a training centre (Academy) and Demonstration project of tomato growing techniques, and is the result of an investment made by Seiwa-Ltd-Co, a company that concentrates on the sales of growing systems, screening systems and other components, mainly for growing tomatoes and strawberries in Japan.

The new greenhouse has 5 different growing compartments, with each comparable technical installations, but different levels of them. As well as this a service area, technical area and teaching facility are also part of the project.

This new greenhouse is made as a Dutch model, but covered with F-Clean film, in order to adapt to Japanese agricultural building regulations.

From the Dutch Embassy in Tokyo, Mr. Cees Roels was one of the 6 people honored to cut the opening lint.

Furthermore, the greenhouse, completely built by Agrowtec Greenhouse Projects, has double screening systems installed, as well as insect netting, a heating installation, hanging gutters and a CO2 dosing installation. The water technical installations, electrical installation and climate computer are supplied by Hortinnovate BV.
