New Zealand: Nominations open for Horticulture Industry Awards

Horticulture New Zealand is encouraging growers and their associations to make nominations for the four awards to be presented at the industry conference later this year.

The awards are:
  • The Bledisloe Cup - awarded for an outstanding and meritorious contribution to the New Zealand horticulture industry.
  • The HortNZ President’s Trophy - to celebrate inspiring leadership within the horticulture industry.
  • The HortNZ Industry Service Award - to recognize people with long and dedicated service in a supplier or service role (not a grower) that have worked beyond the call of duty for the betterment of the horticulture industry.
  • The HortNZ Life Member - to recognize growers with long and dedicated service as office holders of HortNZ and/or an affiliated product group or affiliated grower association.
Who can make nominations?
Any grower member of HortNZ, an affiliated product group or an affiliated grower association can make nominations.

How do I nominate someone?
Complete a nomination form. These are available on www.hortnz.co.nz or by calling HortNZ on 0508 467 869 or emailing shona.roberts@hortnz.co.nz.

When will the awards be presented?
At the Awards Dinner being held during the Horticulture Conference at the Rutherford Hotel, Nelson on Thursday 4 August 2016.

Nominations must be sent to the HortNZ Board Secretary: shona.roberts@hortnz.co.nz or PO Box 10232, The Terrace, Wellington 6143 and must be received by 5.00pm on Thursday 16 June 2016.
