Smog affects Chinese vegetable production
"In 2015, our company turnover was impacted by the downswing of the Chinese economy and the extraordinarily low temperatures. The heavy smog and lack of sunshine has negatively impacted the growth of our plants. At one point we experienced 40 days without sunlight! Thanks to our diversification strategy our turnover has just been able to cover our costs."

International expansion and online sales
"We grow a variety of vegetables, including cucumbers, tomatoes, paprika, carrot, onion, eggplant, and various leafy vegetables. In addition, we plant snow pear, crown pear, peach ad grapes. The majority of our produce is sold at our own sales points across the country. A small amount of vegetables is sold to dealers, including wholesale markets, supermarkets and retailers. They then distribute the crop to other regions. We just launched our e-commerce platform. Now online sales only account for a small portion of our sales, but we want this to grow. Now we only distribute our products within China. However, we are already to promote our products abroad. The good news is that our export base certificate has just been approved."
"Looking forward to 2016, we have two main objectives. We want to develop our e-commerce platform and increase the proportion of sales through online sales. We also want to promote our fresh produce into new foreign markets."
