After five or six years of lower maintenance in Dutch Horticulture, Ren van der Horst of Spuitbedrijf R. van der Horst welcomes movement in the business. "Over the last few years there was little profitability amongst growers. When profitability increases, growers start to invest in maintenance."
Recently the company has been painting growing tubes and the external walls of a tomato farm in Bleiswijk. "It will benefit the installation and the heating rendering when the heating tubes are provided with the correct paint," explains Ren. "It is an easy way to save energy and therefore money - but you have to be able to make an investment at first."
