Mexico: Larger Expo AgroAlimentaria prepares for second day

Yesterday was the first day of Mexico's premier event for greenhouse horticulture; The Expo AgroAlimentaria in Irapuato, Guanajuato. The show, taking place for the 30th time, but for the first time at the new location just outside of Irapuato, seemed to be a bit slower on the first day compared to what we are used to from this show. But this might be the result of the show's 30% increase in exhibition area, which is now more spread out. Still many exhibitors were pleased about the first day at the new location.

At first glance, the new exhibition greenhouse, built by Inverca, is housing more produce companies than exhibitors this year. Several larger Canadian and American greenhouse produce companies decided to take a booth, in order to meet their existing contract growers and possibly to recruit more Mexican growers. Definitely a positive increase.

Today and Thursday, the HortiDaily.com team will again be present this year to make a complete report of the show, and to interview exhibitors and growers. Have some news for us in regards to the Mexican greenhouse industry? Or do you want to highlight your project or project launch? Just drop us an e-mail or your press release and we will include this in our newsletter or visit your booth! You can also find us at our booth across the Dutch pavilion, booth 933. Here you can pick up a free copy of our Buyer's Guide!

On Monday we will be back with our complete photo report!
