Reuters news agency is reporting that Mastronardi Produce Ltd has opened confidential discussion for sale of the family-owned company. The company responded to the report, indicting its does not plan to sell, but may look at taking the company public. According to a spokesperson of Mastronardi, the company only wanted to estimate the value of the company, and is not directly thinking about selling a part of the enterprise.
“The company wants to share its potential value with investors in order to further increase business,” the spokesperson said. The discussions expect the value could be as high as $900 million, including debt, according to people familiar with the matter.
