Russia promotes local greenhouse builders

Last month the agricultural attaché of the Moscow Embassy visited the Republic of Tatarstan. He met with Deputy Minister for Agriculture Nazip Khazipov, among other people.

During the meeting with the Deputy Minister, the latter said that in Tatarstan a free economic zone has been created where production can be tax free. Tatarstan is looking for companies seeking to establish themselves in the free economic zone, greenhouse builders in particular. The emphasis is on contractors who wish to produce local greenhouses for the local market. Other companies are also welcome.

In 2012, Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Maiksy nursery.

Tatarstan is an autonomous republic within Russia. Russia has long been working to become self-sufficient. First, the discussion focused on food production, but steps have been taken to further privatize the sector with preferably Russian, but at least non-Western companies. Tatarstan recently announced the Miracle building project, now in the hands of the Turkish Design Group.

In addition to being tax free, there are other incentives available for businesses which want to establish a production facility in this region. If you are considering production in Tatarstan and want to be in contact with Deputy Minister Kazipov, please contact the Agricultural Office in Moscow.
