Gangster Brian “Tosser” Meehan is cultivating a new career behind bars – as a greenhouse gardener. The killer, who is serving life for the brutal murder of journalist Veronica Guerin, has been appointed head of a new growing area at Portlaoise Prison.
The 48-year-old Dubliner is obsessed with gardening and has become an expert in recent years after studying books and magazines.
A source told the Irish Sunday Mirror that despite Meehan’s dangerous reputation, he loves nothing more than learning about flowers and growing fruit and veg.
