Arricover: bioclimatic shield for crop protection
This has been exactly the objective of Arrigoni group’s research in the past few years – a fabric that combined the perfect light quality, protection from the weather and excellent mechanical characteristics to reduce laceration and shelf-life problems without compromises.
All of this can be achieved with the new new Arricover – mechanical resistance – light quality – transpiration – reduced environmental impact.
A few examples on how it can be employed:
Leaf vegetables – excellent results on lettuce and chicory both in cold greenhouses and open field even in late spring and summer. Period of use: late October to late August
Red chicory protected by Arricover.

Leek and Onions – excellent results against freezes, quick de-icing and maintenance of the perfectly humid microclimate. Period of use: depends on the area.
Arricover on leeks open field..
Melons and Watermelons – excellent results in polytunnels – greenhouses and open fields – great light quality and good transpiration that help against fungi and mould. Period of use: early March to September.

A summary of Arricover's strong points:
1) Quick installation with considerable reduction of hours/operator/ha
2) Cost-effectiveness as it can be re-utilised for many seasons
3) Easy to dispose of/recycle
4) No tearing/uncovering due to adverse weather
5) Improved transpiration, lower humidity and increased health
6) Excellent light permeability (88% of total radiation)
7) Respects the visible sun radiation (PAR)
8) Slight light diffusion for better photosynthetic efficiency
Last but not least, Arricover has been designed and manufactured from a selection of polyolephin polymers and can therefore be recycled, thus providing environmental and economic advantages.
After various seasons of experimentation, Arrigoni group and its technical staff are proud to introduce such a "simple" yet modern solution.
