Netherlands: GreenQ's Jilles Goedknegt moves to VB Group

After more than four years with GreenQ, Consultancy Director Jilles Goedknegt will be moving to VB Group; specialists in Greenhouses and Climate Solutions. Jilles's background and international network will prove a valuable asset to the VB Group's existing expertise. ‘We increasingly work beyond the Dutch borders, where we experience international clients as being mostly interested in the combination of technical solutions and insight into cultivation technology; the hardware and the cultivation results. More than ever, this is exactly what we offer and now certainly reinforced by the arrival of Jilles,’ says Edward Verbakel.



Jilles Goedknegt is a familiar name in the horticultural sector. Prior to being Consultancy Director at GreenQ, Jilles worked at Priva for over fifteen years. Thanks to these two key positions, his extensive network now extends far beyond the Dutch borders. This network, when combined with his wide technical background and ample experience in cultivation-technical environments, will slot seamlessly into the VB Group's future ambitions. The Group is increasingly focusing on foreign markets, particularly in North and Central America, Europe, Turkey, Russia and Japan. ‘In these markets we address completely different target groups than we do here in the Netherlands,’ explains Jilles Goedknegt. ‘In the DMUs (Decision Making Units) over there, it's mainly the investor who decides. And the investor of course is looking to maximise the return from cultivation. The greenhouses and equipment used must be completely adapted to a particular crop, as well as matching the expertise and the opportunities of the foreign grower or cultivator.’

More structure, more proactivity

Jilles Goedknegt will be responsible for sales from VB Group's international activities. ‘We'll be expanding our activities further and start operating more proactively. We believe this can best be done by offering local made-to-measure activities. Internationalisation is not just about exporting Dutch products, you really need to be flexible and adapt. It's important to translate the company, fine-tune it to create a product which satisfies the overseas context.' With the arrival of Jilles Goedknegt, the VB Group expects to better meet the demanding of the world market.
