Less crop and expenses for Gartneriet Skovbrynet:

Denmark: Fighting Phytopthora with electrolysis

The nursery Skovbrynet near Odense, Denmark has for many years produced Impatiens New Guinea for the bedding plant season. The nursery grows pot plants in 1,1 Ha. Greenhouses.

The Phytopthora fungus has been a big menace for this crop over the years. Three years ago an Aqua- Hort was installed, and the problem disappeared.

Aqua-Hort treats irrigation water with electrolysis in order to fight bacteria and fungus that can damage plants. The electromagnetic force exerted on treated water literally pulls bacteria apart, causing them to die. The electrolysis system based on the use of copper is an effective way to treat water against fungus and bacteria, but it also helps to establish a healthy root and plant development.

Jeppe Aavang from the owner family is very pleased with the Aqua-Hort installation. The old problems with crop losses and expenses for fungus chemicals has gone.
