Your favourite crop can take you to Vienna, Austria

Seed is at the origin of all our food. Every seed is packed with potential and every crop is unique. How are ESA’s crops present in your daily life? From seed to plate, send us your pictures and stories!

Since January 1st 2015 the Crop of the Month competition is open for submissions. Every month ESA will present a different crop and ask participants to submit a picture and a short text on ESA's Facebook page that answers the question: How is this crop present in your daily life? From seed to plate, participants can send in their pictures and stories. These can be recipes, fields or anything else that is related with the crop.

The competition will run monthly until the 31st of August, with a different crop for every month. The crops for 2015 are: Cucumber (January), Oats (February), Sugar Maize (March), Alfalfa (April), Peas (May), Root Chicory (June), Melon (July), Cotton (August).

Each month a winner is chosen by public voting on Facebook. From the submissions of the 8 monthly winners the jury will chose the final winner. This winner will be awarded a weekend trip for two people in October 2015 to Vienna, where ESA is holding its 2015 Annual Meeting. At the event, he or she will receive the Crop of the Month Award certificate.

The full rules and regulations can be found on the Crop of the Month page in ESA’s website and on ESA’s Facebook page.
