Germany: More companies, new varieties and innovative technology on show from the UK pavilions at IPM Essen 2015
Meet leading suppliers from the UK horticulture industry by joining the biggest ever British group for an informal networking reception from 5pm on Wednesday 28th January or visit the UK pavilion and CHA industry information stand at any point during the exhibition.
2015 will see the largest ever UK participation from the two main British pavilions (Hall 10, stand 10C13 and Hall 3, stand 3B37) and other satellite stands located in relevant sections of the event. Many first-time exhibitors will be showcasing new product ranges and varieties, alongside some more familiar participants.
Amongst these, internationally recognised rose breeder David Austin Roses will be introducing three new English Roses from the pavilion in Hall 10. The new varieties include ‘Olivia Rose Austin’ (Ausmixture), a great all-rounder that combines beauty and fragrance with superb health and ‘The Lady of the Lake’ (Ausherbert), which is only the fourth repeat-flowering rambler to be added to the English Rose portfolio. David Austin Roses are particularly excited about their third new rose, ‘The Poet’s Wife’ (Auswhisper), as it is the first yellow rose they have introduced for over 10 years.
Newcomer Pictorial Meadows Ltd provides perennial seed mixes which are used in both commercial and domestic environments to create flower meadows. Increasingly, these seeds have been used by many local authorities as an ideal and cost effective way of managing problem areas such as cleared or demolished sites, roundabouts and verges and the company is now looking to introduce the concept to a wider international audience.
Custom design labels, packaging and Point of Sale experts PPC Labels return for a sixth consecutive year, having seen a dramatic increase in demand for Point of Sale material in 2014, including trolley end posters and shelf edge strips.
The Guernsey Clematis Nursery Ltd will be displaying a new concept of clematis Chelsea™ Boulevard® Evipo100(N) in a hanging basket. Clematis have been grown in hanging baskets before but this new clematis cultivar which has been developed by Evison® and Poulsen®, lends itself to this concept. It is an exceptional cultivar and with its natural compact and free-flowering habit, will provide the consumer with flower throughout the summer.
Fairweather’s Nursery returns after a successful first-time participation in 2014, showcasing their specialist range of Agapanthus. Also returning will be Whetman Pinks, Plant Marketing International and grower sundries designer and manufacturer Tyne Moulds. Two new first-time participants are New Leaf Plants and Harkness Roses, and they will be joined by returning Caledonian Tree Company, the manufacturer of a specialist root control system.
The expanding pavilion in the technology hall 3 will feature a number of novel products and services including professional grower substrates from Bulrush Horticulture. They will be joined by first time exhibitor Vitax Ltd, the specialists in the supply of everything needed for successful gardening and growing.
Another first-time participant is Technical Absorbents Ltd. They will be showing their unique super absorbent fibre (SAF) technology which can be used as both temporary and long-term water management solutions. Glasshouse accessories specialist Hotbox International and Cambridge HOK, the designer and manufacturer of high-specification glasshouses, will showcase their latest introductions. Solufeed return with their range of speciality fertilisers. Agralan will be introducing new ranges of pheromone traps to monitor for pests across all sectors of the horticultural industry.
The pavilion is organised by the Commercial Horticultural Association (CHA) who also operate an industry information stand (10C13) where visitors can obtain details of British group participants and their products via the UK Preview Guide, pick up a copy of the annual CHA Buyers’ Guide, conduct meetings or attend the informal reception held on the pavilion.
To make an appointment, register for the UK reception, or request your free copy of the UK Preview Guide or CHA Buyers’ Guide, please email stuart@cha-hort.com with your contact details.
