US: Leopold researcher awarded for ag research

A researcher for the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University has received a top award in organic agriculture.

Fred Kirschenmann, a North Dakota native and distinguished fellow at the Leopold Center, received the One World Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The award, which is given every two years, was presented on Sept. 19 in Germany at the headquarters of the Rapunzel Naturkost organic food company, whose founder began the One World Awards to honour individuals, projects and innovative ideas that promote ecological, economic and social improvement.
