The Expo will take place in Dubai from October 10, 2020 to April 10, 2021. Even if there is still quite some time to go before the World Expo opens its doors:
The business world is making a positive assessment of the decision in favour of the venue by the Gulf. It is being predicted that the Expo might crank up the local economy by two to three percent in the coming years. This will result in new sales markets and the strengthening of Dubai as a fair location.
Particularly fairs such as IPM Dubai are providing the decision takers for the Expo with new stimuli and ideas. The most important horticultural fair in the Gulf region is the ideal meeting place in order to obtain information about innovative products and services from the fields of plants, technology, floristry, sales promotion as well as plant care and logistics directly in situ. Because there is a great demand for flowers, plants, landscape gardening and horticulture. After all, new green areas are to be created on the Expo site encompassing 4.38 square kilometres.
However, there will also be great demands on the green sector when the numbers of guest beds and hotels in the emirate rise. The hotel and catering sectors are planning to extend their capacities considerably and, by 2020, to at least double the figure of 80,000 rooms at present.
