What people say about Asia:
“ | Vietnam is an extremely interesting country, with a very young population. The Vietnamese are very enterprising and there are lots of small businesses. The country is agriculturally orientated and has big potential because they have a harbour and multiple climates to grow various fruit and vegetables. The country is by far the biggest exporter of dragon fruit, but they also grow produce such as pomelo, mango and small scale exotic fruit and vegetables. Vietnam has the potential to take over the position of Thailand in the fruit and vegetable industry. |
| Willem Kokkeel (Managing Director / owner at Eurasia Connections) |
“ | Asia is a region that will only continue to grow in interest to the produce sector. Emerging markets such as Vietnam are swiftly increasing production and exports while China, a powerhouse of both production and importing, will continue to affect global trade flows. |
| Nancy Tucker (Vice President, Global Business Development) |
“ | The impact of Asia will be colossal. Just look at one example - On the demand side, the increasing size of the Asian market at attractive prices is already attracting much more produce, and will pose ever greater challenges for traders and retailers in Europe and North America to source fresh fruit and vegetables from the rest of the world. |
| Gerald Lamusse (Managing Director Global Produce Events) |
