On Friday, March 21 Grow Group opened its doors to a number of tomato growers and seed companies, to view the results of a tomato trial. In the test, different ways of topping various breeds are compared, chiefly in order to assess whether the differences affects the growth of the plant and the equality of the shoots. The latter can cause problems at the start of cultivation and have implications for cluster development. Grow Group will continue to with the trials, to see whether the various treatments affect the cluster growth.
Grow Group shares the results with its customers and seed companies to ensure that this additional knowledge is invested in growing a better plant. About 30 farmers and eight representatives of seed companies were present at the presentation and they contributed to an interesting discussion on this topic.
