New 30 hectare Kenyan rose farm supplies via FloraHolland
Bloomingdale Roses is a new worldclass producer and starting from January the 20th, at the auction clock of FloraHolland, with the sales of a wide range of premium T-hybrid roses. The farm of 30 hectares is located in the ideal Timau region in Kenya, close to the equator at the slopes of Mt. Kenya. Bloomingdale Roses has strict quality procedures at every stage of production. Partner Company BSI BV in Aalsmeer imports the roses into the Netherlands and makes the roses ready for the auction for sales worldwide.
Bloomingdale Roses
The company Bloomingdale Roses is part of the Kenyan Bobmil Group and was founded in 2013. The company covers a total of 30 acres, 16 acres under production and 14 acres under construction. Also 2 acres is dedicated to packhouse, canteen, staff accommodation and recreation area. The nursery is located in the Timau region in Kenya, at an altitude of 2,450 meters near the equator at the slopes of Mt. Kenya. Bloomingdale Roses is a world-class organization that distinguishes itself with its unique brand and is a recognizable top producer of premium quality roses. Bloomingdale Roses starts at January 20 with the auction of premium roses.
Premium quality
Bloomingdale Roses grows premium quality T-hybrid roses in modern greenhouses and uses glacial melt waters flowing from the slopes of Mt. Kenya. Quality procedures are in place at every stage of the process to ensure we meet specific requirements of all our clients. The roses offer guaranteed vase life, uniform quality and good packaging. The company is currently undergoing the process of the MPS certification.
Wide range
Bloomingdale Roses has the following T-hybrid roses in production: Wink, Athena, Madam Red, Eliza, Asante, Sundance, Nicoletta and Goodtimes. The following types will soon come in production: Mariyo, Belle Rose and Marie Claire. The lengths of the roses vary from 50 to 90 cm.
Closed cold chain logistics
The roses are brought with an own refrigerated truck directly from the cold storage on the nursery to cooling cells in the Cargo Centre at the airport of Nairobi, where the air cargo get taken care of. The distribution from there is worldwide and send by air cargo freight daily.
Partner Company BSI BV
BSI is located at the auction in Aalsmeer and is the representative and repackaging of foreign growers. The company imported flowers from the boxes and make it 'salable', for both the auction and wholesale. BSI distinguishes itself by making a detailed report with advice how it can be done better. The company also regularly visits the growers and gives advice on the spot 'post-harvest'. From the start, the company is involved at Bloomingdale Roses.
