Offering potentially the widest greenhouse structure on the market, CEO Patrice Harnois, said: “We can definitely say that on the territories where we are currently active, there is no equivalent to this greenhouse.”

With five 5-hectare turnkey projects in the pipeline - due to commence building in February and March, and more to follow in May and June, the Luminosa+ has been designed specifically to meet the needs of customers working in tropical climates (namely Mexico and Morocco, North Africa), with the emphasis on width and light.
Yves Dubé, Harnois’ VP of Greenhouse Division says: “my customers want to have more light, the clearest greenhouse possible, and less obstruction from the structures. When we started 15 years ago the bays were 9.6, 11, and now we are at 14.40 metres, to maximise the light penetration in the greenhouse, to create a better climate and get a better yield.”
The Luminosa+ offers greater air volume in their greenhouses with better climate stability, and with wider bays there is 13% less structure, meaning shorter construction time; and with less equipment, there are savings to be made on maintenance.

Using specially designed steel tubing, Harnois have been able to create a stronger structure to support the increased width, giving the illusion of a lighter structure, however it’s just as strong according Caroline Forest, VP of Communications & Marketing.
“The experience we’ve gained in the last 20 years in Mexico is very valuable because the market over there [in Morocco] is pretty much in the same state as the Mexican market 15 years ago. They’re going to experience the same growth and evolution, so what we’ve already learned, has a lot of value over there,” said Caroline.
“Based on the reactions of the visitors seeing the Luminosa+ in action at the Expo AgroAlimentaria, this greenhouse could very well be its own little revolution,” concluded Yves Dubé.
