North Caucasus greenhouses provide over 11% of seasonal vegetables and greens in Russia

According to a recent study, North Caucasian vegetable producers supply over 11% of vegetables and vegetable greens to the national market. The grown vegetables can be divided into two groups: field vegetables from private farmers, and vegetables grown in greenhouses - from large-scale commercial producers.

According to the results of the past year, the gross harvest of vegetables and vegetable greens in the region reached 65.8 thousand tonnes of various types of plant products. In 2012, 3 ha of new greenhouses were put into operation in the North Caucasus region.
