Vietnam International Agriculture Fair, Can Tho, Vietnam:

Asia: Nunhems debuts at Vietnamese tradeshow with tomatoes and hot peppers

Nunhems, the vegetable seeds business of Bayer CropScience is, for the first time ever, participating in Vietnam International Agriculture Fair in Tien Giang on 8th-14th November. With the theme “A World of Knowledge in Every Seed”, Nunhems introduces itself as the global specialist in vegetable seeds, particularly in breeding and innovative products. Can Tho district is Vietnam’s major vegetable growing area and the fair is one of the largest agricultural fairs in this country.

The first-time presence of Nunhems is set to attract the crowd. Their booth depicts a traditional Vietnamese floating market, with key Nunhems vegetable varieties placed on a small wooden boat, in Vietnamese called “Xuong”. Just like the way a Vietnamese vegetable wholesaler would sell his produce while cruising along the rivers of Vietnam.

Star products on display are tomato variety NUN 2258 and hot pepper variety NUN 2074. NUN 2074’s excellent fruit bearing and good field-level tolerance gives it a longer crop cycle and low maintenance costs for the grower. NUN 2258, a ToLCV resistant tomato which has uniform firm fruits, gives the farmer the convenience of good shelf life and longer shipping times.

Other varieties on display are Rio Bravo (Onion), Ajax and Anaxo (pickling cucumber), NUN 2258 (tomato), and NUN 0081 and NUN 2074 (hot pepper).
