Climate system for 25.000m2 Desert Joy realized by VB Climate:
Tunisia: Agro Care about to pick first fruit in Gabes
In April this year, a new greenhouse complex was realized in Tunisia, in collaboration with Dutch grower Agro Care and ZinaFresh. The project has been named Desert Joy. The company is located a half hour drive from the coastal town of Gabes. Desert Joy's tomatoes grow in the months of September to June. A heating system will be in use next to a CO2 dosing system, especially during the winter.
Cooling
To irrigate the crop, use is made of a reverse osmosis device that pumps up water from a well, purifies it by removing the salt and then transports it to the substrate unit. Because the water is pumped up at a temperature of 40 º C and the plants can’t take that, VB Climate has a chiller installed so that the water ends up with a temperature of 15 º C before going to the plants. The heat released during this cooling / heating process, is heated further by the boiler, and then used directly or stored in the buffer tank.
VB Climate is part of VB Group in De Lier and specializes in complete greenhouse heating and cooling systems.
