Spain exports 255 million kilos of cucumbers

In the first five months of the year, Spain has sold a total of 254.82 million kilos of cucumbers for an average price of 0.81 Euros per kilo, which has generated 206.79 million Euro, according to figures from Fepex and Agencia Tributaria.

Lithuania paid the highest average price per kilo (1.14 EUR), followed by Belgium (1.12 EUR) and Sweden (1.03 EUR). Among the top 20 importing countries within the EU, Poland is in fourth place (1.01 EUR / kg), Austria in fifth (0.91 EUR / kg).

Slovenia paid the lowest average price per kilo (0.18 EUR / kg). Slovenia paid on average 0.30 EUR / kg, Portugal 0.49 EUR / kg and the Czech Republic 0.53 EUR / kg.

The main importers

Germany is again the largest importer with a total of 90.09 million kilos, for which was paid 69.94 million, an average price of 0.78 EUR / kg. The Netherlands are the second-highest, with a volume of 36.48 million kilos for 31.29 million, with an average price of 0.86 EUR / kg. France imported 19.53 million kilos for 13.99 million, an average price of 0.72 EUR / kg.
