Modine Manufacturing Company is pleased to introduce the new PTP-series gas-fired unit heater. The PTP-series is a horizontal discharge unit heater that delivers 80% thermal efficiency in a robust package of design features. It includes a stainless steel tubular heat exchanger as standard on all units. The PTP also carries a 10-year heat exchanger warranty, providing customers with peace of mind.
“We launched this line based on customer feedback looking for a tubular design that offers a lower cost stainless steel solution specifically for the greenhouse and industrial markets. We have been offering separated combustion units for years, so a beefed-up version of our standard power vented model was the logical next step,” said Matt McBurney, Vice President of Modine’s Commercial Products Group. “This new line provides customers with improved equipment longevity in a standard package at a reasonable cost.”
Other standard design features of the PTP include totally enclosed fan motors and all the controls mounted inside the cabinet for protection from airborne moisture and dust. Optional features include finger-proof fan guards for meeting OSHA requirements when mounted below 7ft., 2-stage controls to reduce short-cycling and temperature fluctuations at part load conditions, and field-installed adaptor kits for easy 2-point suspension.
Users of the PTP will also benefit from a design that allows quick and easy installations with wiring terminals and knockouts for quick access to gas and electricity, and a roomy controls cabinet for ease of work. The standard power exhaust simplifies side-wall or roof venting with small diameter vent pipe and a permanently-lubricated motor for trouble-free dependability.
All units are proudly made in the United States at Modine’s Buena Vista, Va., facility and comply with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) (Section 1605). Modine’s products have been designed, tested and manufactured in America for almost 100 years to provide not only the ease of use, air circulation and even temperatures that customers expect, but also to meet and exceed efficiency standards.
