Netherlands: First harvest at Enza Zaden Demo Greenhouse

This week, the first tomatoes in the Enza Zaden Demo Greenhouse in the Netherlands have been harvested. In the picture Cor van der Laar and Nico van der Wel proudly show the first box containing our very attractive cocktail tomato variety Annatefka. The choice to support the first 8 clusters literally turned out fruitful. All fruits grow equally, are uniformly shaped and colour beautifully.



Well developed crops

The plants were planted on the slab on 18th January. Despite the disappointing light conditions in January, the crop developed as we hoped it would. In week 9 we realized the maximum planting distance for the various types. At this moment we harvest the earliest varieties. And as of next week, we start lowering the crop for the first time.

'New product development'

The preparations for the presentation booth in our Demo Greenhouse are well under way. This year’s focus is on our taste tomato assortment, the new range of truss tomato varieties and our promising hybrids for loose harvest. This season, we also pay extra attention to ‘new product development’ with a selection of new genetic clearly distinct from currently grown ‘bulk varieties’.
