Netherlands: Pepper production beats expectations in lighting test

A group of FresQ growers set up a trial at Agricultural Research Centre Zwaagdijk this year in cooperation with TTO, designed to investigate year round peppers. The objective is to provide a quality product from Dutch soil, even in winter.

The trial started in week 38 and the first peppers were harvested in the first week of November. How is it doing now? "The production is well above expectation," says Stefan Persoon of Inno Agro. "By cultivating according to a model in which active thinning is a prerequisite, some great strides have been made."

Watch a video report on the study by Inno Agro. The images are from mid-February, just as the corresponding production number. (The video is in Dutch)
