Germany: Bejo emphasizes use of organic seeds during BioFach

Bejo took part for the seventh time in BioFach, the international organic trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany. Bejo Zaden is one of the largest suppliers of organic seeds for the professional organic sector and has a stand of 40m2. This year Bejo choose for a new stand and look. This look was introduced at Fruit Logistica. The new layout makes the products and concepts look beautiful. Bejo got a lot of compliments on that.

Just like other years Bejo received quite a few visitors at BioFach. They informed them about the importance of using organic seeds. "BioFach is a good platform for us to introduce our organic varieties to bio emerging countries. For example we welcomed a delegation from the Ukraine."

During BioFach Bejo presented its growing range of organic varieties. From tasteful carrots to mildew resistant onions. Bejo is convinced that more and more organic farmers will use organic seed. In this context Bram Weijland gave a presentation entitled "Organic farmers buy organic seed." Bram discussed during his presentation issues such as Bejo's philosophy in relation to breeding and production of organic seeds, the challenges involved in the introduction of organic seed and the added value of organic seed for the organic chain.
