Mexico: New greenhouse complex La Huerta to be finished in April
La Huerta delivers frozen products worldwide with a focus on Mexico and the United States.
In order to extend the product range and to realize the aim for durable cultivated products La Huerta has developed a plan to grow vegetables in their own greenhouses. First step to do this started some years ago by building a 2 hectare low-tech plastic foil greenhouse.
Together with Spanish greenhouse builder ULMA AgrÃcola S. Coop the next phase of greenhouse construction has commenced. The first phase of 4.5 hectare is built in cooperation with VB Climate and Hortimax. The 6 meter high plastic greenhouse has been designed with modern installations for present day tomatoes cultures.
VB Climate delivered a complete heating installation with a boiler house that is completely prepared for the future phases. Finally the total project will develop to a total of almost 16 hectare greenhouses with tomatoes and peppers.
In the boiler room a modern horticulture boiler installation with a one-pass boiler installation, a condenser and a CO2 dosing united will be installed. Outside this technical room is a large heat storage buffer. The tomatoes will be grown in the ground with rows measuring 1.92 meter. VB Climate will install the pipe-rail heating installation with a rail width of 55 cm.
At this moment all project partners are working hard to finish the first 4.5 hectare before April of this year.
