"Netherlands:“Extensive general soil sample is a must"

Taking an extensive general soil sample is a must for growers of asparagus. Bejo Zaden in Holland advises growers to take a sample each year, especially during the first few years of cultivation. The results can be utilized to further the ideal fertilization. The thin skin of the Cumulus variety calls for an adequate and precise process of fertilizing. Adding the right mixture of calcium, potassium and magnesium is crucial. An analysis performed by BLGG shows that an optimal calcium-potassium ratio of 1:1 is vital.
