Horticultural company Jan van Marrewijk B.V. in Dinteloord, Holland has worked hard last year to get the new 12.5 ha. greenhouse complex ready for production. When commissioning the CHP, problems arose, putting the tomato production schedule at risk. Van Marrewijk acted quickly and called in the help of PinC Agro to install mobile CHPs. PinC Agro in turn collaborated with partner Aggreko to meet the deadline by equipping the greenhouse with the new CHPs.
In Holland the operation is unique. Never before has a mobile gas power project of this scope been realised. The installation consists of six mobile units of 1 MW. One unit holds two containers: one for the gas engine and one carrying the equipment. In total the construction has 12 20ft. containers. The whole project was coordinated by PinC Agro.
Fortunately for Jan van Marrewijk, the operation ran as smoothly as it did due to emergency fittings already in place. The initial construction allowed for the use of mobile CHPs. The fruitful cooperation prevented the cultivation schedule to suffer any delays.
