Grower / Head Grower looking for a new role
I am an expert grower with 20 years of greenhouse vegetable growing experience in Canada. I am open to accepting new roles as a Grower/Head Grower, Operations Manager, General Manager, Product Development Manager. I have completed Ph.D. in Agriculture from the University of London (UK).
At my jobs I had the responsibilities of managing greenhouse operations for quality production of tomatoes, cucumbers, and strawberries. I have sound operational knowledge of greenhouse climate/irrigation control systems - Priva, Hoogendoorn and Argus. I also have research and development, product development as well as project management experience. In addition, I have excellent organizational and team management skills.
I handled multitude responsibilities of greenhouses (10 acres to 50 acres in size)including propagation, planting, fertigation system, climate control, identification of insect pests, biological and chemical control of insect pests and diseases, resistance management, introduction of predators and parasitoids, chemical applications, crop monitoring, crop steering, leachate measurement, collection of samples, calibration of equipment, nutrient recirculation through ozonation, pasteurization and UV systems, research and development, record keeping, report writing, food safety audits, nutrient solution and tissue analyses, fertilizer mixing, maintaining required nutrient ratios, and monitoring of pollination.
Trained assistant growers, labor managers/supervisors, scouts, maintenance teams and crop workers for quality production of tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries.
