Gautier Seeds Tomato Trials 2013
Propagated by HollandPlant, the tomato crops where sowed on 10/23/2012 and grafted on Maxifort and Optifort rootstocks in the second week of November 2012. The crops were planted on Cultilene Optimax rockwool slabs on December 6, 2012. After planting the plants where also manually vaccinated with the Pepino Mozaik Virus.
AL 165 is a new Plum tomato on the vine with a deep red color and a strong restance against Tmv and BES (Blossom End Rot). It has been cultivated in both standard and lit crops. The production is good and judged by WUR's taste pannel, the taste is better than current crops that are available in this segment. The variety will be commercially marketed under the name Aubade.
"V470 will go commercial under the name Edda. Lens: "Edda is a loose tomato for the French and Belgian market, it is currently grown by some growers of Prince de Bretagne and Tomabel. Thanks to the deep red color, quality and taste the acreage is expanding again this year. The tomato has a flat shape that stays nice and firm."
Cocktail tomato K4 is named Bykyni. It is well received amongst many Dutch growers of Prominent and all other visitors from different countries. The cocktail tomato has got a strong green calix.
C79 will get a commercial name soon, the C80 will be marketed under the name Appeticio. Both varieties have an extraordinary good taste perception.A lot of interest from retail, especially from the UK.
The visitors really took a close look on all of the varieties that were on display.
Throughout the entire season, the crops are harvested on every Monday. Underneath each box there is another box with the fruit that is being harvested exactly a week before, so the shelf life can be compared anytime.

G296 is a real eye catcher. The premium variety in the middle TOV segment has a very good shelf life and a deep red colour. This year it will be commercialy grown by Dutch growers.

Eye cather and premium TOV middle segment tomato C296, not yet a name but well received. Will be grown on an impressive acreage this year.
Again eye cather 296, search the difference of one week conservation. One of these is harvested one week earlier.
