Kom in de Kas 2026, Netherlands

A remarkable number of vegetable growers took part in Kom in de Kas 2026 on Voorne-Putten. Those who lived nearby came by bike. People from the city came by car and were able to drive down the participating locations.

Samax organised a competition, but in between, Pascal Lakerveld also had time to hand out tomatoes. Corné van Steekelenburg was also on hand in the afternoon.

How often do you get the chance to look inside a tomato greenhouse as a layperson these days? Many took the chance to look inside, here at location Greenforce by Bryte.

With some safety measures with hygiene in mind, it was still possible to experience the real tomato experience in the greenhouse at Bryte, location Greenforce.

Viridis-Eco is one of the organic growers on Voorne-Putten

Viridis-Eco is growing organic tomatoes on almost 4 hectares on Prinsenweg this year. The plants were planted on 10 February. In the greenhouse, you will encounter cocktail vine tomatoes, medium vine tomatoes and cherry tomatoes.

Nursery G van den Bos benefited from extra business because of Kom in de Kas. On their way to Harg & Roses' greenhouse full of potted roses, many visitors also stopped by this strawberry vending machine.

These young visitors briefly lent a hand at Harg & Roses.

The packing and sorting of potted roses at Harg & Roses attracted a lot of attention.

Harg & Roses' newest location was commissioned in late 2024.

On a narrow path along the transport lane for the containers full of potted roses, visitors could see a little inside the impressive greenhouse. "It looks like the Keukenhof here," spoke one visitor full of admiration.

Organic horticulture company Frank de Koning opened the Kloosterweg 5 site to the public. The bouncy castle was not lacking either.

Definitely not weeds, but useful plants to keep the biology going in the greenhouse at biodynamic grower Frank de Koning.

The beer bottles caught the eye of many visitors. With the help of the beer bottles, watering is monitored at Frank de Koning's greenhouse.

Nursery F.J.J. de Koning grows biodynamic tomatoes, cucumbers, (pointed) peppers and aubergines at a total of four locations. In the greenhouse that participated in Kom in de Kas 2026, visitors encountered vine tomatoes, wild tomatoes and mini San Marzano tomatoes on 3 hectares.

Here, the secret of the beer bottles in the greenhouse of Nursery F.J.J. de Koning is explained.

More and more varieties are resistant, but for certain specialties, growers sometimes still choose the best-tasting variety, even in the absence of rugose resistant varieties.

To keep the soil healthy, bio(dynamic) growers' crops change every year. Nursery F.J.J. de Koning has 4 locations at its disposal for this purpose.

The products of Nursery F.J.J. de Koning are sold through Harvest House to many Dutch supermarkets, specialised health food shops and there are also exports to Germany, England and Scandinavia.

At Vers van Voorne, visitors could buy their own vegetable garden together, here with tomato plants raised by horticultural company Gebr. de Gier.

Between shopping at Vers van Voorne also some technical information, for example on measuring boxes deployed to keep the climate optimal.

Greenyland grows cucumbers on perlite.

After a warm, growing week, the cucumbers are moving fast. On Saturday morning, harvesting was still going on at the back of the greenhouse at Greenyland.

In Asten, five businesses opened their doors, including Kwekerij Moors.

Hannie Moors welcomed countless visitors to the farm - not surprisingly, as there was a huge amount to see and do.

Nursery Moors is a star on socials and made it easy for visitors to be one too.

At KIDK Asten, four nurseries and technology company Cogas opened their doors. In addition, numerous suppliers and growers from the area supported the event, including BrabanPlant. Just a quick look to see if they are there.

From the food bank to the local castle, the long corridor gave everyone a place.

If you don't know why this photo and this cart attracted enthusiasm, you should take a moment to ask some youngsters for an explanation. That's how we learn from each other.

Another participant of KIDK 2026 in Asten was Bamboo Giant. A hugely unusual company - how many growers in the Netherlands (or in Europe?) grow feed for pandas?

This table holds 40 kilos of bamboo, which is what an adult panda eats PER DAY! Bamboo Giant delivers 1000-1200 kilos of bamboo every week to Ouwehands zoo in Rhenen.

Bamboo Giant is one of Europe's largest bamboo nurseries, with 25,000m2 of greenhouse and another 35,000m2 of outdoor space.

Very nice all the info on the 75 bamboo species - but how cool to just make some reels out of the jungle in Asten?

Many people were surprised by the existence of non-growing species of bamboo.

Bamboo Giant's plants, grown or purchased in-house, are sold to gardeners, export companies and garden centres throughout Europe. But major holiday and amusement parks also find the company.

The great thing about KIDK is the diversity of the companies.

Bennie Nielen, owner of Bamboo Giant, was bombarded with questions about the plants and about pandas.

And a nice ice cream to go with it - it was again top-notch everywhere

Nice those plants, but who can build the tallest tower with empty pots? It was guaranteed fun for young and old alike.

Through the bamboo forest, marvel at the different colours of trunks and the height of the plants.

Westland was also nice and busy. The route was well marked, and plenty of space to put your bike away.

We started the route in Westland at Duijn-Hove

The Moore DRV company was well represented as one of the main sponsors.

There was plenty of time to explain the cultivation, and there was no shortage of interest.

Popcorn and a movie, anything goes in this cinema greenhouse!

There was an excellent walking route laid out. This gave you a nice view of the production process.

From the bus stop, people kept pouring in.

Kom in de Kas is a fun event. These people have another colourful photo to go with it.

At Heboplant, a special reception committee stood to welcome people.

The companies can count on a lot of interest from young to old.

There were plenty of places to grab a bite to eat or rest.

The story behind the Dionaea Muscipula or carnivorous plants. Still remains very exciting.

Beautiful flower presentations were on display at many farms. Here we see the Gerbera.

At Heboplant, they import a variety of green plants. In this shade are phoenix roebelenii's.

You don't see this Asparagus in its large pot size very often. Heboplant has plenty of nice ones.

In Westland, they pulled out all the stops. This merry-go-round offered fun entertainment for the little ones.

This gerbera greenhouse did not officially participate in Kom in de Kas. We couldn't resist taking a snapshot anyway.

Through the corridor, there was excellent view of the tomato plants.

Much attention had been paid to the decoration of the route.

The Biobest stand was nice and busy.

At chrysanthemum farm Leen Middelburg, the cultivation step by step was well illustrated.

In the corridor, lots of clear explanations with nice signs.

Attention to the company's history. Definitely something to be proud of.

And now into the greenhouse!
