Mexico: Busy first day of GreenTech Americas

Automation, propagation, new varieties, new technologies, well-known partners, start-ups, AI tools, cultivation workshops, conference sessions, and an innovation award— all of that, and much more, could be found on the first day of GreenTech Americas. The trade show kicked off yesterday in Queretaro, Mexico, bringing together a large part of the Latin American greenhouse industry.

After the opening ceremony, the very first GreenTech Americas Innovation Award was presented. Of the five nominees, Adaviv, OCS, Sera Intelligence, Verdant Technologies, and Bionomic, the latter took home the prize, which was launched to celebrate forward-thinking technological and sustainable solutions shaping the future of protected horticulture.

Bionomic won with their BioShield, a stable biological solution (without live microorganisms) that controls 'Fusarium' and 'Rhizoctonia' by inhibiting their growth. Ideal for IPM in horticultural crops. The Jury stated: "Bionomic is the winner - a biological, fast-acting product compatible with both organic and conventional agriculture, offering great potential and currently under development."

And an honourable second-place mention went to Sera. "A dynamic platform that allows you to communicate and develop strategies for your greenhouse without needing to be fully autonomous."

Today, the event continues with a full educational schedule and a trade show floor featuring over 230 companies. Our editor is present to capture it all for our photo report, but if there's anything you would like to share, feel free to reach out.
